Number Nymph realizes that the concept of sound and vibration, as resonances of energy – your energy – are in many ways new-age philosophies, yet they are supported and substantiated in the old-school scientific method of discovery; and they’re corroborated by modern science. They’re also chronicled by ancient scribes in many religious texts.
Number Nymph subscribes to the idea that your energy, your ‘vibe,’ can be identified and better understood so that you, too, can live a healthier, more whole existence. You can learn to love deeper, respect others for experiencing this Life within their own unique frequencies, and find harmony and balance with them while they move along their Life Journeys.

Number Nymph uses the Pythagorean system of numerology to determine your Life’s experiences. Much like your astrological sign may ascribe personality traits to you, numerology explores your Life’s source energies. How does your spirit vibrate? What music do you emanate with your vibrations? Depending on your frequency and energetic harmony, you will move along a Life Journey, heading towards your Destiny, while exhibiting certain personality traits. This can be derived from the numbers under which you were born.
There are several schools of numerology that are highly regarded and respected for their insights into energy and human nature. Among the more popular schools, there’s Chaldean Numerology (originating from ancient Babylonia), Kaballah Numerology (stemming from the ancient Hebrews), Chinese and other Far East (Taoist based) Numerology, and Pythagorean Numerology.
Pythagorean Numerology is often found in the Western World. It simplifies complex numbers down to a single digit, where that single digit represents common traits associated with specific energies/vibrations.
As a quick refresher, Pythagoras, for whom the Pythagorean system is named, was a philosopher and mathematician in ancient Greece. He died c. 500 BC. If Pythagoras sounds familiar to you, it may be because you learned about him in Geometry class. He’s the father of the Pythagorean theorem (a2 + b2 = c2), which states that the sum of the squares on the legs of a right triangle equal the square of the hypotenuse. He is credited with introducing this concept to Western mathematics.
Being so astute with numbers, Pythagoras also pioneered the study of math as it related to music. Using different lengths of string, he observed its vibrations and objectively recorded the results of various tests. He used a logical, scientific approach to study sound as it related to string vibrations. He progressed from string instruments to wind instruments to brass instruments, establishing quantitative ratios between different pitches and their varying frequencies. Through this, Pythagoras is said to have discovered the most harmonious musical intervals (and, by default, our current musical scale).
He later applied his findings on sound, vibrations, and energy towards psychology, medicine, and cosmological questions. Pythagoras believed that human beings and our universe are composed of harmony and numbers; and even though he couldn’t hear their sounds, he claimed that the sun, moon, and planets made their own vibrations. He called these sounds “the music of the spheres.” This brilliant mathematician/philosopher believed that numbers described and revealed the true nature of our Universe. Not only were they measures of the physical, but they also held mystical and meta-physical revelations about our existence.
It's through Pythagoras’ philosophies, mathematics, and scientific studies that we have the Pythagorean School of Numerology.
